Take a stroll along the Lagoon and enjoy the view of Table Mountain, or for the more energetic, head for Milnerton’s beautiful sandy beaches, which stretch far up the west coast and are ideal for long relaxing walks. The West Coach beaches are also famous for wind and kite surfing and have been host to many international competitions. A little further up the West Coast, near the town of Piketberg, is one of the most favourable spots in the world for hang gliders. For the more serious hikers there are many hiking trails up Table Mountain, which is only a 15 minute drive away and for the golfers there is an 18 hole links golf course within walking distance. During the months of August and September the West Coast and surrounding area is turned into a wonderland of colour when the semi-desert flowers come in bloom.
